Eyes are important indicators of overall health, and comprehensive eye care goes beyond a prescription for glasses or contact lenses. At Shadyside Eye Associates, we take the time to get to know you, your eye care history, and your vision needs. Dr. Telega provides the expert care, advice, options, and follow up you need whether you are a new patient or an existing one.

We are also doing our part to be environmentally responsible by running a nearly completely paperless office, using sustainable products in our office design and build out, and offering a complete line of very cool eco-sustainable eye wear. These glasses are made from either 100% biodegradable, recycled or sustainable materials and with excellent quality and amazing style.

A comprehensive dry eye evaluation is vital in determining the appropriate therapy for YOUR dry eye. We have the latest in diagnostics and therapies. Advanced therapies go well beyond artificial tears and other eye drops. Dr. Telega is very excited to offer the latest in evaporative dry eye treatment including IPL for meibomian gland dysfunction as Radio Frequency for lid health.

Scleral and Specialty Contact Lenses

Scleral lenses are large diameter gas permeable lenses that are designed for patients with corneal irregularities such as keratoconus, post corneal transplants, injury, severe dry eye, among others. It can also be used to treat various ocular surface diseases, including dry eye disease.
