Optometrist, Dr. Alicia Telega, started Shadyside Eye Associates and Dry Eye Center over 10 years ago to fill the needs of patients requiring a more intense and effective treatment of their dry eye, ocular allergy, and ocular surface disease. With proper treatment, sufferers can better enjoy life, comfort, work, clarity of vision, contact lens wear, and appearance. At SEA, we also enjoy the challenges of unique contact lens fits, especially with regard to patients who have dropped out or failed with contact lens wear in the past or who require specialty contact lenses for optimal vision, including keratoconus, corneal scarring, and ocular surface disease.

 Dr. Telega, OD, is a Western Pennsylvania native and attended Washington and Jefferson College where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology and then went on to attend the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus) for her professional degree. She started her career in large private practice outside of Washington, DC but saw an opportunity to move home and start her own specialty practice in Pittsburgh in 2013.  Dr. Telega currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA and is grateful to be able to commit her time to helping patients from all over to feel better, see better, and look better.
