Dr. Alicia Telega started Shadyside Eye Associates and Dry Eye Center to fill the needs of patients requiring a more intense and effective treatment of their dry eye, ocular allergy and ocular surface disease. With proper treatment, sufferers can better enjoy life, clarity of vision, contact lens wear, aesthetics and appearance. Dr. Telega enjoys the challenges of unique contact lens fits, especially with regard to patients who have dropped out or failed with contact lens wear in the past or who require specialty contact lenses for optimal vision. Other interests include Laser Vision Correction and Cataract surgery co-management, diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and the detection and monitoring diseases of the eye that are related to systemic causes including diabetes, hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis, and skin disorders. Dr. Telega is a Western Pennsylvania native and attended Washington and Jefferson College where she obtained her B.S. in Psychology and then went on to attend the Pennsylvania College of Optometry for her professional degree. She currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA and is excited to commit her time to helping Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities in seeing better and feeling better.
